GMB Scotland condemns the recent attacks on workers in Glasgow and Edinburgh and demands urgent safety action
GMB Scotland condemns the recent attacks targeting workers in Glasgow and Edinburgh, including the stabbing of a Deliveroo rider and the assault of a taxi driver at a petrol station.
Paul McLaughlin, GMB Scotland Lead Organiser for the gig economy, said:
"These are appalling acts of violence against people who are simply trying to do their jobs and serve communities across Glasgow and Edinburgh. No worker should ever fear for their safety."
"We stand in solidarity with the victims and their families, and with all workers who feel increasingly vulnerable while carrying out essential work in our cities."
"This is about dignity, safety and respect. Every worker deserves to return home safely at the end of their shift. GMB will continue to campaign to improve safety until action is taken."
