Dear GMB Member

GMB Scotland in Grant Westfield: Trade Union Recognition – Important Update!

Our priority is the defence of your interests, that’s why we have been campaigning for full trade union recognition in Grant Westfield.

It has come to our attention that your employer may be undertaking anti-union tactics by encouraging employees to sign a mandate against our recognition campaign.

If you have been approached to sign such a document, we would urge you not to sign this.

Not only could have this have implications for trade union recognition but this may also undermine your employment rights.

I will be on site shortly but if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on 07912 560805 or email

Dear GMB Member

GMB Scotland in Grant Westfield – Pay Talks Update

The priority of GMB Scotland is the defence of your interests.

That's why GMB Scotland have canvassed members in Grant Westfield and you have made it known what you would like to see in this year’s pay talks.

You may have received a letter from the company informing you that a 2.5% pay increase will be applied from 1st July 2018. I should let you know that this increase has not been agreed with GMB.

The company has decided to make this offer without the simple courtesy of discussing with the Union what the views of our members may be.

GMB has insisted that proper process be followed and expect the company to enter into formal negotiations with your representatives to negotiate a decent pay rise and to discuss other matters of concern to you.

For your information, the claim GMB has put forward on your behalf is as follows:

  • A 4% pay uplift across all grades.
  • Harmonisation of hourly rates between the Samples Team and Multipanel Operatives.
  • The introduction of annualised holiday hours for production workers.
  • The introduction of production bonuses in line with production targets.

You will be kept informed on all stages of the negotiations. Your support is vital for a successful outcome and I know we can count on it.

If you have any further concerns or questions, please get in touch with your local GMB workplace rep, email me at or call me on 0141 332 8641 during business hours Monday to Friday.
